(housing discrimination) alright!

EVEN MORE: please read 3rd and 4th comment!

re: " My, and any other owner occupied multi-family dwellings, responsibility under the law is exactly as I mentioned.

I can advertise, mention, or discriminate against anyone I want to for any reason I want to without being in violation of the law.

Your mentioning of discrimination only applies to non-owner occupied dwellings, and "apartment buildings" which are generally anything with 4 or more apartments in it."

again, I suggest you check the law regarding *advertising* and make sure you understand what you can and cannot *advertise* (whether or not you can discriminate is not all that relevant -- you need to make sure you are not advertising anything you are not legally allowed to advertise...) D.

re: "As a landlord for an owner occupied 2 family home, I can tell you that many many many rules and regulations for "Fair Housing" don't apply to me, and I can deny a person to live in the other half of my house for any reason I want. Skin Color, hair color, kids, pets, smokers, what car they drive, how much money they make, religion, sexual preference or any number of other things if I want to."

what you can legally do and what you can legally advertise are different things -- I suggest you make sure you understand what is your responsibility under the law as far as *advertising* if you are going to advertise on craigslist (or elsewhere): the prior court ruling only absolves *craigslist* of liability, NOT the craigslist ad posters/landlords

P.S. let's hope the legal system wakes up D.

Do you have a life or do you spend all your time sitting up in your ivory tower looking down on others to find things to criticize them about instead of looking at yourself and fixing what is wrong there first?

As far as the "Housing Discrimination" goes, you aren't providing any examples of the supposed discrimination, also the varying rules by town, county, state and federal can be very different in trying to decipher them and know what is or isn't legal.

Many times what people think is illegal isn't really illegal because of the situation.

As a landlord for an owner occupied 2 family home, I can tell you that many many many rules and regulations for "Fair Housing" don't apply to me, and I can deny a person to live in the other half of my house for any reason I want. Skin Color, hair color, kids, pets, smokers, what car they drive, how much money they make, religion, sexual preference or any number of other things if I want to.

You should learn to understand the law before you go after and criticize someone based on it.

and get a life, really, it would be a lot more healthy for you.

thanks for you comment, anonymous... (sorry to see you are so bitter about this issue); will answer in the body of the entry D.

Actually, you should just answer in your own comment, your style of writing and responding is anarchical and therefore are confusing and don't allow for ease of dialogue.

but really, you should go learn to understand the law prior to assuming you know what you are talking about.

My, and any other owner occupied multi-family dwellings, responsibility under the law is exactly as I mentioned.

I can advertise, mention, or discriminate against anyone I want to for any reason I want to without being in violation of the law.

Your mentioning of discrimination only applies to non-owner occupied dwellings, and "apartment buildings" which are generally anything with 4 or more apartments in it.

There is a lot you don't understand and don't have the experience in dealing with them.

Honestly, I am not bitter about anything, your entire blog is nothing more than what appears to be a bitter, obsessive, and stalker like diatribe after you were obviously wronged in some way through the use of Craigslist and have decided to deride CL instead of the real person or people who wronged you.

I pity you more than anything else.

Actually, this is my blog and I get to answer where ever I want; I'll respond to the part of your comment that is relevant to this entry in the body of the entry one more time but this is it -- I'm not going to do it again... (you do appear to be bitter and I see no point in going on and on responding to the same thing)

If you don't like my blog for whatever reason, you are more than welcome to move on... although some people did appreciate it, it is not really intended for "public consumption" -- it's raw! ( it's been just my thoughts, whatever strikes me about the topic whether serious stuff of comic relief)

As to my reasons for writing this blog, I'm sorry to disappoint you but they are much less exciting than the reasons you impute me... (and I have previously clarified my reasons on this blog so I'm not going to do it again).

Anyways, I hope you follow my advice re: advertising and you don't get in any sort of trouble. Take care!
